HNLMS DE RUYTER (F 803) holenderska fregata typu De Zeven Provincien, która zastąpiła w służbie dwie jednostki typu Tromp. Budowniczym okrętu jest położona w Vlissingen stocznia Royal Schelde. Nazwa okrętu pochodzi od nazwiska słynnego XVII wiecznego holenderskiego admirała Michiela Adriaenszoon De Ruytera (24.03.1607 – 20.04.1676) uczestnika wojen angielsko – holenderskich. Obecna jednostka jest piątą w historii Marynarki Wojennej Królestwa Holandii noszącą tę nazwę (poniżej poprzednicy obecnego De Ruytera):

• DE RUYTER (wodowany 1880) – nieopancerzony krążownik klasy Atjeh, 
• DE RUYTER (1926 – 1942) – niszczyciel klasy Admiralen, przemianowany w 1935 roku na Van Ghent, 
• DE RUYTER (1935 – 1942) – krążownik lekki klasy De Ruyter, 
• HNLMS De Ruyter C 801 (1953 – do dziś) – krążownik lekki klasy De Zeven Provincien od 1973, peruwiański BAP ALMIRANTE GRAU, 
• HNLMS DE RUYTER (1976 – 2001) – fregata klasy Tromp.

HNLMS RUYTER (F 803) Dutch frigate class De Zeven Provincien, which replaced in the service two units class Tromp. The builder of the ship is located in Vlissingen shipyard Royal Schelde. The name of the ship comes from the name of the famous XVII-th centaury Dutch admiral: Michiel Adriaenszoon De Ruyter (24.03.1607 – 20.04.1676) participant of the English-Dutch wars.

The present unit is the fifth in the history of the Royal Netherland Navy bearing that name (below the predecessors of the present De Ruyter)

• DE RUYTER (1926 – 1942) – Admiralen class destroyer renamed in 1935 to Van Ghent,

• HNLMS De Ruyter C 801 (1953 – till today) –De Zeven Provincien class light cruiser, from 1973, peruvian BAP ALMIRANTE GRAU,
